Pediatric Hospital Programs

MiguelThe in-residence hospital and outpatient program is modeled after the highly acclaimed, Dream Jam All Access: Music as a Gateway to Multi-disciplinary Learning Program, which has been in public schools in the Northeast. The conceptual elements of the program have been reinterpreted and customized for the special needs of young hospitalized patients with serious illness and trauma. The original music has been composed to accompany the themes of the unique story lines. Custom-designed puppet characters join the teaching artists in each episode.

The program design also takes into consideration those patients who are bedridden and has an adapted program to visit individual rooms. The program meets young patients where they are-both physically and emotionally.

The teaching artists are all professional musicians and actors, trained in working with children. They are highly skilled in group dynamics, with an emphasis on listening compassionately to children. The program is educational and fun, increases socialization opportunities, encourages self-expression and creativity, honors emotions and feelings, and ensures a non-judgmental atmosphere.
